All foods are best purchased & eaten organically grown, however if you must choose which foods to buy Organic, here is a list to help you. It's important to purchase meat and dairy products that are organic or at least choose the ones that are "grass fed" or "free range" & contain NO hormones and antibiotics. A higher demand for organic foods will help bring prices down.
Chronic disease is linked to the typical American Diet of fast foods & processed foods containing many chemicals, pesticides as well as genetically modified foods. For that reason alone, it's always best to purchase organic foods of all types if at all possible due to the chemical buildup over time with multiple exposures that confuses our bodies and can cause toxcicity. IF you must choose which fruits and vegetables to purchase organic, here is a list to help you spend your money wisely.
The "Dirty Dozen" are the ones that absorb the most pesticides and chemical fertilizers, tested to be found all the way to the core or center of the fruit or veggy. So, please buy the "Dirty Dozen" ORGANIC!
The "Clean 15" were tested to have less pesticides and chemical fertilizers, however, they were not totally free of them. If you must choose how to spend your "organic dollars" wisely, these would be a list that you may be able to buy as "conventionally grown".
All the rest of the produce falls somewhere in between these lists in varying amounts.
"The DIRTY DOZEN" (buy these Organic always!)
